Well Chuck, Nick has been getting his dry legs back. Been going out for fine dining at Sub-Way Mc Donalds and alike. He is scheduled to be in San Diego for his 2nd C-School on this coming Sunday. He is still trying to get info about having his car shipped to Hi. He is also planning a two week leave to home when he is in California. Don't know whats up. I think he want to see a girl he has been dating. Gary T.

My son is also managing to put some money away. He still likes Hawaii and MOST days at work. My son is scheduled for deployment toward the end of the year. It is to be about 6 months plus minus. No offical word on where. They will be deployed to an airfield somewhere.

Same here Chuck, Nick is counting the days until he can touch dry land. Don't know how he will take a 6 or 7 month deployment next year. He is looking into buying a vehicle which will make his Hawaii stay more palatable. Still haven't heard anything negative. He is saving money, which is one positive thing about a deployment. Gary T.

RimPac is over this week. My Airdale is glad as it was a lot of work. He was working nights in the hanger. He was also pulled from his shop to help out on the the flight line. He is ready for a return to the routine and as normal as Navy life gets.

Chuck, yes Nick had a great time with the helicopter ride. He really enjoyed it but said it felt like it was going to fall out of the sky. He was picked off the Erie and taken to an assault carrier then transported to the hospital on Oahu. Said there were about 24 sailors in all. Didn't have much time to talk as he was awaiting muster.

I did receive a call to night but it was one of those pocket calls. You know when the phone rings and you can here people talking but no one will answer you. Sounded like they were enjoying themselves. Nothing more for now. Gary T.

I think so on the assault ship. The deck was covered with attack helicopters. Still haven't heard from him, maybe tonight!

NEAT!!! The carrier in RIMPAC is the Reagan CVN76 I think. There are also a couple of assult ships in the exercise. Could it have been one od those?

Well Chuck, haven't talked to Nick yey but he did download several photos to facebook. One was a self portrait with a grin. From the pictures it appears he was taken off the Erie and transferred to a carrier with attack helicopters. He was then flown to Hi on a large double bladed transport helicopter. Some great air shots but no call yet. 22:20 hours. Illinois time.
