Chuck, Yes he does have a car . I am not sure how much sight seeing he has done . He said the island is about the same size as our county.

Careful AlohaNavy!!! Our son is at Pearl Harbor and just purchased a car this week and it's been such a process. I have made so many calls to Hawaii, thank goodness for free phone calls but feel like I'm learning a new vocabulary!! Safety inspections, city hall...it's been a learning experience!!! Welcome to the group, we are glad that you have us. GL is so far from HI - will yo be going to the PIR? What school will your son be heading to next?

I live in Hawaii and have a son at BC and his PIR is next Friday.
If any of your loved ones are stationed here & need someone for advice on anything here, please let us know.

Andrew, he reported to his ship at the end of July. They have been hard at work as they just completed INSURV but I know he has enjoyed some of the beaches, hiking and a trip out to Dole Pinesapple Plantation's Maze.
