Thanks Brian
Can anyone tell me the address of the base in Pearl. Where is the main gate?
@ Jim Youker What shirts?
Morning everyone I need your help. We will be visiting your son soon when his ship gets in from deployment. He is currently on deployment aboard the USS Paul Hamilton DDG60.
This trip is going to be expensive so we're looking for way to cut expenses.
I heard it's cheaper to rent a not so new (1-3 years old) car from small local rental places instead of the big name agencies.
I've also heard that food is a major expense. We will be staying somewhere we can cook so we plan on buying grocieries.
I heard there is a Sam's Club near Pearl but we may not need to buy in such bulk. A friend who was been to Hawaii many times suggested buying food here and checking it as luggage.
That what they did and he said the cost to ship is worth the savings on food. They packed steaks, shrimp etc. in dry ice in an ice chest. He said you'll spend several hundred dollar per week otherwise just to eat.
He also said do and go to the non-tourist things to save money yet have a great experience.
I would appreciate any input you guys have from your trips or anyone who lives there and knows better. Thanks!
Got to Skype with our son on Wed. twice. So good to see his face. Can't wait to see him in person. We pray things don't escalate in Korea to keep your sailor safe and on schedule.
Just dropped my son off at the airport. He's flying out to his new duty station, Pearl Harbor. He just graduated from EO "A" school and will be joing Seabee unit CBMU 303.
as far as I know the order goes in on the 22nd......
Just FYI, I ordered shirts from the site 3 weeks ago and have not recieved anything nor a notification.
Mt sailor's transfer is complete. I am leaving the group. The best of everything to all of your sailors!!!
Just got a call today from my son, he just graduayed from A School last Thursday and got verbal orders today. He goes to Ops school near the end of Feb and then to Pearl Harbor, USS Rueben James.
