Chuck, I am sure Nick has been to almost every bar on the island. I know he has seen every WW II memorial. He does have many friends both military and civilian. His ship is scheduled for dry dock sometime in the near future. He may try to come home again before September. He will be taking the GM2 exam then.

Gary,

I hope your son takes time to enjoy all that Oahu has to offer.  Has he been to the historical sites at Pearl?

Congrats to your son Chuck. May he go onward and upward. My son is scheduled back in Hawaii soon if not already. He has been out since the  end of April and looking to get back to the beaches, friends and his car.

We are planning a trip this month to see our son who is stationed at Pearl Harbor.  Does anyone have any hotel suggestions?  Also, Happy Father's Day to all you Navy Dads....Enjoy your day.

Bet you were sorry to see him go Chuck. My son was home for his grand mothers funeral in May. Luckily he was porting in San Diego when my mom passed. He was given a 10 day leave while his ship was in port. He is planning on returning in August but I will have to wait and see.

Just put my Sailor on a plane top return to his base. We had him home for about two weeks. He made it home to see his sister graduate from high school and receive the Girl Scout Gold Award.

Bill, I've send lot of things to my Son using the U.S. Mail packages they have them in various size boxes with no weight limit. It might be worth it to check out. I sent my Son shoes, golf magazines also packed it with 6 baby outfits and toys for my Grand Daughter birthday for $5:00 : )
