Thanks David. Hope your son is enjoying his time at sea. I loved shipboard life when I was in.
My Son graduated MC school in July and is stationed about the USS Emory S. Land (AS-39) a submarine tender. Cell phone service is really lousy in the area near DINFOS, but he should be able to email you soon.
I see that MCs might be stationed aboard aircraft carriers and larger amphibs. Do they ever get sea duty aboard smaller vessels?
Also, is there some way to obtain my son's mailing address at MC A school? His PIR was Friday and he flew to Baltimore Saturday evening.
At what point during A school are the students allowed cell phones?
Thanks in advance if you can answer any of my questions. Sure was great spending time with my son after the PIR.
what are you really interested in knowing- if about the rating (my daughter's chief sent this to me- he is writing the manual for MCs):

I am new to Navy Dads. My son is in Boot Camp now with a PIR of 12 Jul. He will be going to A school to be an MC. Any advise or information would be great. I'm an old retired Army officer.
Jeff I see MC's as our window to the Navy's world... :)
Kris was in Div 063. I wonder if there are any in the 25 JAN PIR group.
