Anything going on with the AE's?

He has been in little more than a year. Now done with Basic Electronics and will be going to AWOT then to "C" school soon. All in Pensacola. Not sure when he decides on platform though. Probably in "C" school.

Bob
We got to visit Andrew this spring. One of our treats was to get to meet some of his friends. He has such good friends and some lead Petty Officers (LPOO) looking out for him. We felt that he had a nice balance in his life. It is good for us to be able to understand what he is talking about when he calls. Andrew is nearly done with his turn on the flight line. Soon back to the AE shop.
By the way we have a family friend on the Truman.

Hey Chuck,
I can't really comment as an AE but I have a daughter that's an AE. She's with VAW-126 and her squadron is currently aboard CVN 75 - USS Harry S Truman. This is her first time at sea and she likes it so far. Things have really progressed quickly for her. She only graduated boot camp 16 Oct 2009 so she's kind of in a "whirlwind". She's got some really good friends that have experience at sea and they're helping her get through it. Glad she's got good friends around her.

Anybody else out there other than Andrew.

Things are still kickin' in the AE world. Staying busy and working all the time. We did turns today and had some preflight gripes. The normal things to do.

Dan,
Things will go fast now with classes and the study sessions. How long has this sailor been in?

Well our son was finally "classed up" to start "A" school last Monday. Sure has been allot of waiting around. At least he is going now.

Yeah I came into the Navy as a AV back in 06 and I was selected to AE in bootcamp. Then I went accross the street to surface command for ATT which I believe they now moved it back to Pensacola. When 60 of us AE's went to Pensacola for A school they didnt even have the school open yet cause Hurricane Ivan took it out. So we sat on hold for a bit. I was in Pensacola from Oct 06-April 07 I had finished A school in Febuary however ended up on hold till April due to order processing. I then recieved orders to a carrier for AIMD orders.... CVN72. USS Abraham Lincoln. Tell you what it has its ups and down....Been through 1 1/2 PIAs and a deployment and countless workups. We do spend alot of time out to sea.... We are leaving for another deployment before to long... then after we get back from deployment It'll be time for me to either get out or re-enlist for shoreduty... in the end it is all in what you make of it.... when I leave here I'll have 4 years of sea duty. I'm ready to be on land for awhile.
