6 days ago Trevor raised his right hand and swore in for another 4 years in the world's greatest Navy. Last night we got to see a picture of him on the U.S.S. Rentz raising his right hand getting sworn in. 4yrs in Italy in Studying Satellite communications. Not bad for a skinny little man from the middle of nowhere Oklahoma.

Got the word an hour ago that my son is officially an ET after finishing A School. He's headed to San Diego for C School very soon.

I just got a letter from the commander saying my son was an honor grad at A school. Can someone tell me what that means? How did he earn it?

Looks as though it is some kind of Deployable Medical personnel. Maybe the ship that your being assigned to needs someone that is trained in the medical field. I know that Trevor is an ET and he was trained as a ship MA as the ship he is on doesn't have any MA's on it as it has 250 person crew. When and if he has to put someone into the brig he has to turn them over to the MA's when they port.

I personally have not heard of an ET getting DEPMED but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. Will have to look into that and see what I can find. Will ask Trevor to see if he knows anything about it.

Has anyone heard of an ET getting DEPMED NH orders? If so what do you think I will be doing?

My Son is taking this path. He is going to be an ET. Being an AT myself I am proud that he is training in a technical field.

Congratulations to you and your son Nick. I made a trip with my daughter in law and grand daughters to San Diego a month ago to move them back before our son gets back from deployment. He recently got his Cheif's boards and has gotten his ESWS pin.

Congrads to your sailor.  It's a long haul to get to this point and he deserves tons of credit.  Landing on the Green Bay is another huge bonus.  Best wishes to both of you.

My son finally finished C school in San Diego and was an honor grad. Now the orders are here and he is very excited!! He got the new USS Green Bay based in San Diego!! According to everything we've read the ship just finished it's maiden deployment in Oct. 2011 so Pat is very excited to be on this ship with all the newest equipment. I am just happy he is still going to be based close to home!
