Got a call from Chris last night. He's moved over to the A school side of the base, and was thrilled. He said he was in indoctrination, and thinks he starts ATT in 2wks. He said that after ATT, he's heard there will be a 3mo wait before he starts the next phase. Also said he wasn't in "permanent" housing yet, but it was still pretty cool where he was. And he was THRILLED with the sound-proof room with a drum set over at the USO, and the fact that there are 4 gyms on the base.

He's a pretty happy sailor right now...

yes Larr each seaman gets to pick 3 places they want to go to. Usually they get the 3rd choice so if they put the one place they don't want to go to first usually skips tight over it. trevor Wanted San Diego and put it as his 3rd choice behind Australia and Hawaii.

James is a FC and most of his C schools are in VA. He won't know until his Orders come out. He said they came and told them they were about 2 weeks behind on orders but they would get to choose then. They choose according to their GPA in A school he said.

Jim,
He wont know for sure until A school is done but he was told that most ET's end up in San Diego.

Larry,
Where is his C school going to be?

James PIRed May 09 and is at the end of A school now. About a week to go. He is going FC and when he gets through with A school he will have about 2 more weeks of ATT before he goes to C school. He is awaiting his orders now and was told there is a delay in the orders now of about 2 weeks. He expects to head to C school the end of March or beginning of April. We can't wait because he will be able to take 2 more weeks of leave in between.

Hopefully we will get a call from Chris today and we'll get a few more details. I believe he was supposed to get his orders either yesterday or today.
I'm sure it will still be awhile before the rest of the picture gets clear for him, AND us.

whenTrevor got out of Att he went to cschool there in Great Lakes. when he got his orders towards the end of his A school he was told that the Navy didn't have the money to move people at the time so he may spend until Oct or Nov. in great lakes in limbo awaiting the new physcal year for the Navy to get money to move people to their next assignment. He graduated A school the end of May 09, 2 days after graduation he got his hard orders to report to San Diego on the 27th of June for C school. His leave for transfer started the 9 th of June. Him his wife and daughter were here in Oklahoma the 10 th of June and in San Diego the 22nd of June and the c school adventure started. Like I said earlier the friday before Thanksgiving he left for his ship and it took him 2 weeks to catch up with it now they are on their way home scheduled to return sometime in the end of March.

Jim,
John says they are telling him to plan to be at Great Lakes most of 2010. His PIR date was 02Dec09.

Ok...that makes sense. The whole "C school" part of this is somewhat of a mystery. I've got the A school part figured out, thanks to some help from you.
We should hear from him tonight if he xferred over today, so I'll be able to ship his gear out to him.
