Larry and Rand,
That is great news guys congratulations. Trevor PIR'd back in Aug. 08 and waited until almost the end of Oct. before his ATT classed up. Right before christmas A-school classed up then graduated end of May then into C-schoolin San Diego the end of June. The 9th of November C-school graduation. Friday before thanksgiving was on his way to meet up with is ship in the persian gulf as it was on deployment so it can happen real quick guys. Cherish the calls and if you get a chance to get on skype with them you can watch them grow right before your eyes.

Randy- That's great news. My son John reports for ATT today. Hopefully he wont have a long wait to class up for ET.

Good news everyone, Nick just classed up for ATT. He starts Monday! Finally the wait is over. It appears that the school has made progress in getting instructors qualified. This will be good news for those of you whose sons and daughters are waiting to class up. It won't be much longer.

Our family was lucky enough to be able to drive to Great Lakes to spend Thanksgiving with our son who is scheduled to PIR 04DEC09. He has already seen his orders and will be moving over to the A school side of the base on 08DEC09 to attend ATT and then on to ET A school.

Larry,
Thank you for the congrats. I talked with Trevor this morning through email and found that he is half-way to his ship. He had Thanksgiving Dinner on the USNS Amelia Earhart this evening and said that it was good but nothig like what his mom or wife cooks like so that is going to take some getting used to.
Yes life in the Navy for our kids is a roller coaster but it is also one for us parents. Congratulate James on getting on the drill team. Trevor too was on the drill team and said the same thing, about it being a way for him to get away from the day to day navy life. Once again congratulate James for me and I wish you and your family well this Holiday season.

Congrats to Trevor. I know he will do well. One journey ends and another begins. James is into A school now and loving it. He also made the Drill Team. We asked him if it would be too much but he said he needed it to get away. His mother and I are following in the roller coaster ride y'all have been in now just waiting for the next step. Once again congrats to Trevor and also to you and your family.

Well Guys and Gals Trevor successffully breezed through C-school and this friday will be on his way to join up with his ship. We don't have a flight time or itenerary yet but he will find out tomorrow sometime. Mom is not happy about this at all but its something that she knew was coming just don't want to let her baby go off to fight a war.
Good luck to all of you dads and your sailors in your endeavours. I am not leaving this group as I wwill still be following it just want to wish all of our brave sailors a safe and enjoyable trip wherever they may find themselves headed.

Roger,

Apprentice Technical Training. All electrical/electronic based rates go through this. It used to be called Basic Electrical Electronics or BEE school. For the first 89 training days he will be in this school and after that he goes to the actual FC A school.

My son's PIR is this Friday 11/6 and we're headed to Chicago. He says his FC
A school starts on 11/19 and he is a grad-and-go. I have heard a few of you mention "ATT" - what is that?

No from what Zach was saying he isn't going to start until June. He is working TAD now.
