Sorry to interrupt, but I just wanted to let you know my son Wes has joined the Navy as part of the DEP program, scheduled for basic training October 6 of this year. He is 18 and will be graduating high school early this summer. He will be training in the AEC field either as an ET or FC after basic. I'll be checking in periodically and I look forward to having an opportunity to ask questions of some who have been down the road that I'm starting now.

yes Trevor moved to the Cole afterPIR, then to enterprise, then filed his chits to get ashore housing so that he could move his wife and daughter up to G.L. with him. He had his PIR in august and had his family with him in October. it has been a long time it seems (mainly because I miss my grand-daughter) but it really hasn't been that long. I hope that your son has fun and enjoys himself and gets out there and makes you proud and a good sailor that we can all respect.

Tim,

My son finely got himself a sprint phone with the whole package including email. He just wrote to say he is today classed up for SCC and hopes to start soon. And also that he has moved to the Enterprise but will move again when he is actually in SCC.

The reason why I am asking is during the christmas break when my son and daughter in law were home. Their phone were doing the same thing they were able to text but when we called them it went straight to voicemail. they went to an At&t store whilein town and found out that in the GL's area AT&T has a higher frequency than what is here in Oklahoma. they were given a new SIM card and the porblem went away. might be something to check into.

what service provider does he have?

No word from him since he went back. His cell just goes to voice mail. However, he did tell me that most of his division in BC were all ETs.

Intelchips have you heard from Ryan? Has he gotten settled in to his new ship yet? any word on how long till his class fills up and he starts? Just curious. like I sadi before it took Trevor 3 weeks for his class to fill up so that he could get started.

When Trevor went to INDOC it took 3 weeks for his clas to fill up so that he could get started. it all depends on how the flow of ET's coming out of basic falls. If he has some time before his class fills up he will have some time to do some exploring and see some of the sights in and around base and Chicago.

Tim,

I have learned that just because I read some document or website doesn't make it true to what they are doing today. It may be varied from what it says in those manuals. My son has a long ways to go to catch up to yours. My son has just reported to INDOC, so he has not even been to ATT yet.

Trevor has been trying to get me up to speed on everything that he has been going through while in school but he has obviously left some parts out here and there because that is more than what he has told me, or more than what I remember him telling me. I don't get to talk to him that often as he is at home when I am at work and at school when I get off work so our paths and conversations are far in between. so here now you are helping me with knowledge. Thanks for the information. Tim
