So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Has anyone got any news on orders for C school?

My son has been stuck in GL for closing on two years (July)!  He had orders last October, but injured himself and had to give them up.  He has long since healed and has heard nothing official regarding orders.  I spoke to him yesterday and he told me they are talking OCTOBER?????  I hope this is just some kind of sick joke!

Also, he still doesn't have his security clearance finished ... what the heck!

Any information for a frustrated father would be greatly appreciated!

Spoke with Alex this weekend, he's graduating A school on Friday.  Already have plans to be there, can't wait.  He's really excited and anxious to move on to C school.

Mary,

Just heard from Chris, he said there are 12 in his class.

I agree.  I think he feels like he's been in the Navy for a year and a half, and is FINALLY near some SHIPS!...lol  Great Lakes was wearing on him, no doubt.

It's always good to get more schools :-)  They used to send students in VA over to Norfolk to view the different types of ships...kinda like a field trip for sailors :-)

I think it's really nice if they can get a snapshot of what life is going to look like.

Not sure how many...I'll check.  He's there for the MK86, so instructor said there was a VERY strong likelyhood that they'll ship out to the fleet, and within the next year, they'll be back at a different C School, which is GREAT :)

Hmmmm...everyone to Japan huh?  How many are in his class Jim?  They are typically small, there was five in Nick's C school.  They also got their fleet orders about six weeks before graduation but...that was then and who knows when they will receive orders now.

Hope everyone is well, we are enjoying some awesome weather here this week.

He also told us that he was going to try and get aboard a ship today...since there are plenty of them around those parts, UNLIKE Great Lakes...LOL

When Chris came home for the holidays he was in great shape...when he came home earlier this month the kid was just plain ripped.  Could have been on the cover of any fitness mag...LOL

He's down in Dam Neck, doing well.  Glad to be off hold and back in school.  He says it's going very well so far, and he LOVES the warm weather :)

He also said that their instructor told his class they should all be prepared to ship out to Japan after they graduate, as that's where everyone's been going and that's where the demand is right now.

Of course that could change between now and July, but we'll see ;)

"Insanity" workout - and adding swimming to their workout now, too - lol.  Our sailors like their 'beach' bodies!
