So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

We're heading down to South Carolina for a week (to thaw out) in late March, but couldn't figure out a way to work a visit in on that trip.

Yeah, I think he's all set.  He was really looking forward to being challenged a bit.  He's been doing 3-5hrs in the gym every day...that gets old after awhile.

He's got great pipes as a result...lol

He may have been feeling a tad bit of apprehension moving on to C school and not knowing what to expect.  He will like C school Jim, much more hands on, lab work, lots of real talk about their actual jobs and life with the fleet and he will be near the beach...can't get much better than that!

Mary,

Yes...finally.  He was a little down when he arrived here, and I'm sure it was from having 4mos of nothing to do.  First time we've seen/heard that since he went in, so good that he's back in school with something to occupy his time.  With long holds like that, I really believe the Navy would be better served by sending them out to their fleet assignment, then bringing them back for C School when the billet is available.

But smarter guys than me have figured all of this out, right? ;)

Ha!  Okay now and his girlfriend is smiling and he is too!  On to the next step!

Hey Mary,

We HAD a sailor in the house...LOL

He arrived Monday night, filled out the paperwork to accept ownership of one of our cars, got his insurance, and was on the road by noontime Wed.  His girlfriend lives in Virginia, so pretty sure what was providing the motivation for THAT hurried departure ;)

Welcome cleanshot22, your daughter has a long road ahead of her but it's a good road.

Jim, do you have a sailor in the house?

Hi all, my daughter recently transitioned to her temp barracks from PIR 1-28-11 and is doing PQ's. Her rating is CF and she is real excited. Hope to learn alot from this group and am proud to be part of the Navy family.
