It's VERY exciting.
He's really looking forward to C School...he's thinking there won't be as much CBT during C School, he much prefers Instructor Led Training, as do I.
The coins are very cool keepsakes Nick has managed to pull in a few especially from his Dahlgren days. I actually have one from MCPON West, I hosted a dinner for him about a year ago and was honored when he coined me. Nick was...jealous!
Have Chris talk to the folks at GL, they will tell him how to handle the travel - they get this alot when a student moves to C school.
And I'm LOVING the pic of the Santa doing flight ops on the carrier deck! :)
Can I get a copy of that for my wallpaper?
Jim
We were looking at his orders last night...
Under "ULTIMATE ACTIVITY" it lists: "DNEC1: DNEC2: PRD 1107"
Any idea what DNEC1 and DNEC2 are?
His PCS move is going to be clear as mud, since he'll be flying back here, and then driving down there. I suspect the best solution will be to tell the Navy he's driving and taking some leave, and just collect mileage for the trip, and pay for his ticket home out of that.
Jim
Mary,
Thanks for the info :) and yeah, it's been pretty quiet because...
CHRIS IS HOME :)...lol
Last night we looked at his Joint Chief's of Staff coin from Mike Mullen, and his USO coin. VERY VERY cool.
Much too quiet in here - you are going to force me to post baby photos or something!!!!
Hope all of our sailors are home from school and enjoying some leave time.
Jim -- there is a world of difference between A and C school, let him drive his car to DamNeck...it will be okay. He will get paid mileage for the trip as well.
He has a car here at home that he wants to take to Dam Neck for C School in Feb, essentially flying home from GL, and driving down to Dam Neck from here.
I know I've heard they're allowed cars in C School, but is it a wise idea to just show up in one? I mentioned that he might want to report first, and then we can get the car to him in a few weeks...
Anyone have any input on this?
FC1?
Jim
They are both for working at the USO Gala in October. One was a JCS coin, the other that he got today is some sort of special/unique USO coin...
