So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Comment by Jim Butler on November 18, 2010 at 3:58pm: Just a note on tickets, even those that are "NON-refundable". Even non-refundable tickets are good for credit on the airline they were purchased on for either 1 year (most cases) or 2 years (some cases). So even if you DO purchase tickets and plans change, you have up to a year to use that credit on the same airline.

Are these new orders FC1 or the ones that you were referring to yesterday? Like some of the students may already have airline tickets for stand down and they may need to change them?

Comment by FC1 (SW) Sean M. Officer on November 18, 2010 at 7:54am: We got a batch of 35 orders leaving anywhere from Dec 17th to Jan 21st. Those leaving on DEC 17th would take leave in route. There were a few leaving Dec 21st as well. Not sure how they are handeling Stand down for those folks. I did not see any names I reccognized from here on that list though.

Comment by FC1 (SW) Sean M. Officer on November 17, 2010 at 8:07am: I spoke with my contact and what it comes down to is there are 2 groups of 40 people transfering before christmas stand down. Those people already know who they are. We are still getting orders trickling in but it is doubtful they will transfer prior to the holidays. With all the people we have been pushing through here the last year, there is not much need for hotfill orders. I would suggest going ahead and making your holiday plans.

I'm just trying to figure out whether to get Xmas tickets home for stand down for my son. He wants to wait just in case he gets 'hot seat' orders before stand down - and leave before the holidays. The longer he waits to purchase tickets, the more expensive the tickets will be, of course. I just wish he had some idea of what to do. I envision him making reservations 12/17!
