Andrew my son graduated in Aug and got orders already orders are slow he also talked about blue to green seems NAVY is trying to weed out and make it tough tell your boy to hang tough and no matter what always show respect no matter how they feel inside Micheal Durants book in the company of heros stresses how important it can be

Good morning all,

The fiscal year has started but the budget is not approved yet so the government is operating under a resolution until the budget is approved.

Clay, what do you mean by ET board? So sorry that your sons and daughters are experiencing these holds. It has to be hard with so much unknown.

Andrew --- don't get too worried about your son wanting to jump ship, the rules for Blue to Green program are very specific and a sailor cannot even apply for it until they are in their final year of enlistment and then they must get the CO's approval.

Andrew he feels enough pressure,our kids are adults now and full seamen, I have faith that my daughter will make the right choices for herself..... I take it blue to green is navy to army/marine? keep the lines of communication open no matter..... be positive...

I saw some where that the navy funds for ship outs is nil, waiting til new year for funding 2011

My son has not called me, or any of his family, in close to three weeks. He is so disillusioned with his predicament that he doesn't want to hear me harp on about his orders ... or lack of. Like I said, he's been in GL since July 09. The last time I spoke with him he mentioned the Blue to Green program ... I'd be gutted if he went through with that. I hope to God that orders come through soon!

Yeah...no kidding. Seems like some wires got crossed up somewhere.
Someone has an idea of how many students are awaiting C school, and how long before C schools open up again.
Almost seems worthwhile to send our sailors out to the fleet if that rumor was true and they're going to be sitting around until March.
I give Chris crap about it every time he calls...telling him I want him to stop wasting my tax dollars and get his butt out there on the open sea so I can sleep better at night :)
