So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

My son finished A school in early June and received orders for October ... four months, give or take, so I'm not surprised. He started boot camp last July, so you can imagine how he feels.

March!!?? Wow. That just seems crazy to have so many sailors in "limbo" for so long. 6 month hold time. Chris says he doesn't mind hold time because it's light duty, but I can tell when I talk to him that even HE'S getting a little twitchy ;)

Oh, and I forgot to mention ... my daughter is at MEPS as I type. She took the ASVAB yesterday and is waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon regarding a slight curve to her spine. She was told by the doctor that it is not an issue, but might need a waiver. Regardless, she'll be picking a job soon and will be off to boot camp in no time. She's looking at becoming a Corpsman ... hope they have orders!

I've got to say, I am very proud of both of my sailors. Another seven years and they can have the last one, too ... LOL!

My son had C school orders for Virginia to start MK86 5" on October 4th. He broke his hand before he shipped and lost his orders. Now he's back in line and was told he's looking at next year before he might get new orders ... as late as March. I hope this isn't true; he's very unhappy! He's been stuck at GL for 15 months now ... ouch!

Chris says they haven't heard a peep about any more orders...seems like there was an initial release, and now nothing. Hope that Personnel is just getting their second wind :)

Started looking around for info on other C schools besides Aegis. Saw a note on Sea Sparrow that said it was 7mos. Not sure what other long C schools are out there on the "conventional" side.
Thought maybe we'd hear more about orders this week...of course the week's not over yet :)

We've been in your situation a couple of times Jim - and so understand! Fingers crossed for all of those waiting on orders.

I wonder what news of orders this week will bring. I think I'm as excited about this as Chris is...LOL
