So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Answered my own question: "Thus, the law permits members to accrue a maximum of 60 days (the maximum that may be carried over into the next the fiscal year [FY])."

I think the only disappointment on HIS end will be that he really wants to take 2wks leave, and I'm not sure they'll allow that.
Is there a maximum amount of leave they can carry forward?

Yeah - the C schools are probably concerned about long delays between schools. Nick reported to Dahlgren just shy of three weeks of school start date and they had him as well as some fleet returnees in a refresher program of ATT.

There is a reason why they split ATT into two parts for the FCs - they wanted that material fresh when they reported to C school.

Yes ----- I think you will get to enjoy your holidays with Chris this year.

I'm not sure that his going out to the fleet before C school would be a bad thing. Seems like it's kind of a waste of time to have these sailors hanging around GL for months and months. If it's going to be that long, ship 'em out :) He'll probably get liberty during the holidays no matter where he goes, so it's all good :)

Hope not Jim, I'm hearing a few people talking that way.

I did read yesterday that $$$$ are opening up this week for PSC orders and those would include training pipeline orders. So money might be available but they still need to have classroom availability for students as housing for them.

Good news for the family - it delays them going to the fleet.
Bad news for the sailors - it delays them going to the fleet.

Just heard from Chris. He said that a group that graduated 3mos ago just got orders to go to Va in January, so he's pretty certain he'll be spending the holidays at GL.

My son will be finishing up A school Oct 24 I wonder if all of these guys will have to wait until February, that's what they've told him too. February for the next set of orders.

He was pretty proud, as are we. It's a small step in the grand scheme of things, but you could tell he was pretty proud of himself, went right out and bought his "grade" for his uniform and took them straight to the cleaner to get it sewn on.
He'd be fine if they kept him at GL...lol

Congrats to Chris! It's good to have A school behind them. I hope that rumor is not true Jim as they won't send them to C school that far in advance.

Got the call...he's finished, and now waiting on orders. He's hearing that all of the C schools are full, and won't have any openings until Feb. Would be nice to know if they're going to hold him in GL or ship him out...
Just have to wait and see ;)
