So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Larry, our son was honor grad at Dahlgren and really wanted to Japan...it was his birthplace but when it came time for orders his choice was...
One set of orders to HI
Four sets of orders to Norfolk

He's loving the beaches of HI.

I am curious though if this new procedure is just at A school or will our C school grads as well as sailors that are due to pcs will be impacted by this.

Could be one way for the Navy to wean the enlistment numbers down. :-/body>

FC1
James is in Dahlgren and grad date is approaching (Nov 29). He is currently at the top of his class and working hard to be first in line for orders. He wants to go to Japan very badly and has worked hard to be at the top of his class even over some FC1's in his class. He has not heard anything over there about this and we were wondering if this was just for C School or for fleet orders as well. I hate to see his hard work go to waste.
Jim I agree with you Wait till you are 30. I did the second time and it has worked out for 21 years even though she was only 24.

I married "my" sailor when he was 29 and I was 28 but more importantly I had known him for 13 years and we just marked our 25th anniversary. Would love for our kids to have some years/experiences behind them before tying the knot but our 22 yr old daughter married her high school sweetie this past year and we will become grandparents for the 1st time in December...ready or not!

Things tend to work out in the end :-)

Congrats, Clay...good for you guys.
Unfortunately, you're the exception rather than the rule these days.
My wife and I each have a what we call a "successfully completed marriage" behind us.

I was 23 wife was 25, been together 25 years this november.... Been a hellva ride! but then again kids dont want to get married, just finish college and move back in with parents .

I for one believe that no one should get married before they're 30. Most people just don't know enough about themselves and what will be important to them until they're in their 30s.

Anything before that is just lining up to make divorce lawyers richer.

Mary its hard enuf to keep marriages together when folks are in the same house the rule of long distant love affairs come into play.....
