So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

That's good Jim --- he will be graduating in the new fiscal year and perhaps the budget will be approved and the Navy will have money to move him to his next school!

Mary,
That's inline with what I was thinking. He should be finished with ATT Phase II around the 1st or 2nd week in Oct, as far as I can tell.

Jim, it all depends on when the C school starts. Our FCs basically have three locations for C school. San Diego, DamNeck, VA and Dahlgren, VA.

Jim,
I can give you an example for our son who went to Dahlgren; he graduated from A school Dec. 5th - stayed at GL until holiday stand down, flew back to GL to check in on Jan 4th and left 12 hours later for VA but his school did not start until Jan. 23rd so he had a 2 -3 week hold but decided to get involved with the Honor Guard program.

I think there is more living space available at A school then at the C schools - but that is only a guess on my behalf as it seems that students will stay at GL waiting to go to C school vs waiting at C school.

When is your son expecting to be done?

Question about hold time between A and C School...I'm guessing that when orders DO come in, that the C School starts almost immediately? In other words, when our sailors graduate from A School, their hold time will be spent at GL, as opposed to getting orders for school in Virginia and transferring down there then having a 2mo wait before their next class starts?
Just trying to figure out what's going to be happening when our guy finishes A and ATT Phase II.

We won't be getting replacements but the number of students we have coming in has been regulated. The recruiting is going to change in October so they are only sending us 75 ET and 75 FC students per month. We can handle 100 of each per month with the staff we have.

FC1 - yikes, 10 instructors? Are there new instructors coming in? All the good progress on holds lately might go backward again.

Good thing they got rid of those Wogs. The smell is horrible. =)

Gotta love facebook - here's what our ship's status says today...

No more slimy WOGs! Congratulations Shellbacks!

Hello all - Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. It's been crazy around here lately. We are losing 10 instructors between now and september 21st and it's going to be painful.
Roger - We never know when the next batch of orders is going to come in. We got 160 sets between January and May, then got 600 sets the first 2 weeks of june. There is a bit of a line but we have had one set come in since your post so he may be in the next batch to come in.
Jay - As far as class ending early, we do not give early outs here at 'A' school and I am pretty sure ATT does not either. Liberty is going to be entirely up to his barracks. Since he is on night shift I don't think liberty will be a problem as long as he has off base liberty. Just make sure to tell him not to get in trouble between now and then.

Thanks Mary - I definately want to see that.
