So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Can't wait for Chris to get out to the fleet, since that was his first reason for joining. That will be SO exciting. I can only hope that while he's in we get the chance to do a family or tiger cruise on his ship. Not sure what the difference is, but that would be an unbelievable experience.

The four day weekend is typically Friday - Monday but don't but any airline tickets until you know their chits have been approved. Lt. Dan is quite the man and he plays at GL at least once a year :-)

Our son's ship has been part of the CARAT exercises in Singapore, they are wrapping up that experience and will be moving on soon. Happy to say the communications from the ship are better than we could hope for. Phone calls from the ship - amaze me.

Comment by Jim Butler on July 17, 2010 at 7:20am: Swapped msgs with Chris yesterday...he was watching the Lt. Dan Band...that's THE Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump. Guess they put on a show at GLNS. Chris said it was a good show.
I think he wants to come home for Labor Day, so we'll have to see how the schedule works out. Seems a shame that they have to take leave when they have the time off anyway, but that's the system...oh well :)

Puffenbarger on July 17, 2010 at 7:16am: hmmmm nat starts A school at great lakes on 24 or 26 th you say he might be able to come home for the 4 days at labor day sean and glad u had time off we all do at some time or we would go nuts....which four days would it be????? and thankyou glad to be here proud as can be of my son ...he just got his cell phone so things are good and met my buddy who lives in lake bluff nat says the base is hugh and can take us on tour of it and cant say enough about how he loves it....
