So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

oh yeah I get it, lol, I'm not sure about the source, probably rumors.

Has someone actually identified a "source" for that statement, or is it just rumors flying around the school?...cuz let me tell you, a bunch of 20-something men can spread/whip up some rumors almost as fast as 20-something women can :)
This sounds like it could be one of those "Hey...Carl said that John said that Chris said that he heard another guy in the office say that..."
You get the picture...

Thanks Jim, I can't believe they are telling them that they may go to the fleet I sure don't like that idea.

noelsnavymom,
I'm going with what FC1 said below: " The training pipeline for FC's is ATT, 'A' School, 'C' school then out to sea. I have not seen an FC who hasn't gone to a 'C' school. I'm sure it happens but those occasions are rare and usually have unusual circumstances"

FC1, I think we're all a little confused.

FC1 -over on Navy for Moms, a mom said her son was in A school right now and they are telling them they over-recruited FC's and ET's and some may have to go un-designated into the Fleet after A school - Before C school is this possible?

Mary,
Do their sailors HAVE orders?...or have they "heard" that some get quad zero orders? I know you're fairly specific...but these days you never know what hits the rumor mill.

That's exactly what I'm remembering too FC1 but we have a couple of wives in our group that have reported that some of the students currently in A school are getting quad zero orders and will be going to a ship and this has me and many confused.

I do know going back about three or four years there was a small time when some of the FCs got IA or TAD orders for either GITMO or the USS Comfort and did six months to a year and then went to C school. I think this was a very isolated situation but I do know one of the sailors personally that went to GITMO and then he went to Dahlgren for C school.

Mary - Quad Zero Billets are usually Shore duty. The training pipeline for FC's is ATT, 'A' School, 'C' school then out to sea. I have not seen an FC who hasn't gone to a 'C' school. I'm sure it happens but those occasions are rare and usually have unusual circumstances. Back when I went through 'A' school if you went to mast to many times you could lose your 'C' school and go to the fleet but I have yet to see that happen since I have been back. Now they revoke their security clearance and the sailor loses the FC rate alltogether.

Latest edition of the Boat Show in the video section shows some CIWS and Sea Sparrow footage from the Abe....worth watching....and towards the end is a moving story about Burial at Sea....worth watching....
