So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

FC1, at what point of their A school training do they receive their orders for C school? Is there a selection or do they take what they are given? What length is the hold between phase 2 ATT and C school? Does the individual talent of the student dictate which C school he/she might be assigned.

My wife and I are hoping my son gets assigned to San Diego for his C school. Of course this is purely selfish on our part ... :o) In talking with him, he wants to follow his strengths, so that he can be an asset. I don't know what you guys are feeding him, but he seems to have become brighter since enlisting ... I would never have heard such "sense" a year ago ... LOL!

Thanks for being the conduit for us, it helps take the edge off.

Cheers,
Andrew

FC1 - First let me thank you for all your informative posts. As a newby here, I try to learn as much as I can before posting. And your responses are quite helpful.
Our daughter is due to PIR 21 May, scheduled for AECF, and hopefully your school. The "A" School curriculum sounds fantastic, and we look forward to reading and learning more about this in the coming weeks and months.
Thanks again for all your posts........Tim

Good morning all,

First, let me welcome Noelsnavymom to the group. I am FC1(SW) Officer. I an the LPO for Combat Systems 'A' Schools. I tend to lurk around the boards here and answer any questions that parents might have about life here in 'A' School. Please check out the FAQ posted in the discussion section above as that covers several common questions. Welcome aboard =)

To address the recent questions. The hold time to get into att is still about 1 month for FCs. The wait between ATT and 'A' is slowly creeping up as the spring surge from bootcamp is starting to show up here. The wait is currently 1 month as well ant unfortunately it will continue to go up until we see a few less coming through the schoolhouse.

Noelsmom, welcome to the group.
Our son Chris PIR'd Jan 29th, and I believe he had a 1 month hold before starting ATT. He said he doesn't know if he has a hold between ATT and A, or how long it might be if he does, and it seems to vary anyway.
Perhaps FC1 has better info tho than we had in the past...I'm sure he'll respond one way or the other :)

FC1, I appreciate the information, thank you!

I think it will only be myself ... maybe my wife, too. I will send you an email when we figure out what we'll be doing.

I'm glad to see he's doing so well. He seems to have found his niche in life ... I am very happy for him and extremely proud!

Thanks,
Andrew
