So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Thanks Sean.
Chris has always said he was going to be assigned to the FC strand, although as far as I could determine, he never had any kind of official notification or orders, so who knows.
So we "think" he's FC, but won't know until he starts, I guess.

Great info. I had joined the "ET" group earlier, and it just donned on me that I should check for an "FC" group.
Chris PIR'd on Jan 29th and moved over to INDOC on Feb 2nd. He was in one ship, then got moved out to another ship. We figured that meant he was classing up, but 2wks later, he was moved to yet another ship, and still has no idea when he'll class up.
He sounds great on the phone, is working out a lot, and seems to have settled in to the new routine. He's a "Chief's Assistant", which means, among other things, that he writes chits for sailors that have to go/do other places/stuff, as far as I can tell.
Can't wait for him to start school...anxious to see how he does in the next phase. I know there are reasons, but it seems odd that for something as structured as the Navy, these guys don't know when they're next class will start. I'm sure someone, somewhere, probably does, and Chris may just not have been paying attention that day.

Sean, Great info as my son graduates ATT this week. It sounds like he will end up in one of the day shift classes. Thanks for jumping in here and chatting with us.

Thanks Sean. Some good info there. I know Zac is on Mid-day shift and I think he likes that schedule. I know I would. Not sure which week he is in, but somewhere in the Phase I A School. This isn't a busy group. It will be nice to know you are checking in on things.

Sean, I am taking the liberty to invite you to join the AECF ET A School group as well. My daughter is slated for ET training but she has been hung up for some time now and is still on the INDOC ship. She is anxious to get things started. Is there any rhyme or reason as to when they move to their new ship and begin training? A number of students who graduated with her from Boot have already moved on and she's feeling a bit frustrated with having to wait. It would be helpful to me to understand more of what an ET learns during ATT and A school. Can you comment on that?

Paul, great to hear Zach is doing well!

My son finished ATT 12 days ahead of schedule, right before stand down for the holidays. He returned on Jan 03 and classed up the first week of Feb. He's doing well, so far. I spoke to him today and he says he is taking his first electronics related test on Tuesday. I guess the first couple of weeks are focused on safety, etc.

We were hoping he was going to be home for his 21st birthday in May, but he told me there is a hold for C school, which may take him into the fall ... I hope not. Fingers crossed, he wants to attend C school in San Diego ... Sea Sparrow.

Good luck to all the future FCs and their families!

Cheers,
Andrew

Zac was on that schedule. I don't think he had a problem with it. He is a sleeper so that is pretty much what he did on that schedule. He likes having a day class for A School now. I think his biggest problem was the chow hall. He can pack the food away too.

Thanks I relay that on. Has anyone else heard complaints about the night class schedule? 4-12:30 then back to barracks with nothing to do IE basketball or open gym

Zac finally classed up for A School. He says the lecture is boring and can't wait to get through that to start working on the computerized portion.

Ricky - ATT can be faster if you son works hard. ATT is all computerized and self paced. Zac finished ATT about 10 early.
