So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Congrats to Chris, Jim!  Sounds like they are all good choices there - and he will be closer to home now which is always good right?  I'm nervous about where my son will choose.  One week he says, SD, then Hawaii, but most of the time Japan.  I kid him and say well what is wrong with SD (closest to home)!?  Is Chris done with C school?  Wondering about the time frame of when they hear about orders?

Chris got his orders for the fleet last week.  He had a choice between Hawaii, SD, Japan, and Norfolk, he took Norfolk.

He's been assigned to the USS Monterey, currently on deployment in the Black Sea.

He says after almost 2yrs, he's finally going to really be in the Navy.

Thanks for the info Theresa and Timothy - Noel is definately enjoying SD and of course he's spending time with Wes and Nathan or "puff" as he calls him.  They seem to be having a great time.

We'll be heading out there in September and can't wait, Noel keeps saying "Ya'll are going to love it'  I'm sure we will.

Happy Father's Day to everyone!  Thanks Tim and Theresa for the info on San Diego and congrats to your Sailors!  Our Sailor is coming home this week for some R&R and then it's on to CIWS C School.  Looking forward to spending some time with him in AZ before he's off to SD.

We just returned from San Diego & had a wonderful time seeing Wes.  Yes, so proud of our Navy son, too.  If you get a chance, Bronx pizza (Scripps hospital area) is really good.  Extraordinary Desserts was out of this world (downtown area).  A little pricey but the desserts are to die for!  Have a wonderful visit - we sure did.  We loved going through the USS Midway, too, and being able to see the base, barracks, and school house.

Thanks Tim - Noel said he knows "puff" that's what he called your son I believe. So I'm so glad there are so many he will know out in SD.
