081207-N-0535P-215 PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Dec. 7, 2008) Woody Derby, a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, salutes the names of the deceased at the USS Arizona Memorial during a Prayer for Peace ceremony sponsored by the Japan Religious Committee for World Federation. The prayer ceremony followed a joint U.S. Navy/National Park Service ceremony commemorating the 67th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The theme of this year's historic commemoration, "Pacific War Memories: The Heroic Response to Pearl Harbor," emphasizes the brave efforts of those who fought at sea, on land, and in the air, to turn the tide in the Pacific. More than 2,000 distinguished guests and the general public joined service members, Pearl Harbor survivors and their families and friends for the annual observance. Hi everybody count down this fri, can`t wait son wrote another letter he said battle stations is on the 30th that is real close beings we leave that next morning I have all the confidence in the world in these young men. wife read that ramada has a gathering thurs. evening 6to8 for people that are staying at the ramada see you all there thx.

I am looking forward to meeting all who attend the coffee at MiMi's. Thanks for the welcome Gary and Rex. I have some pictures of my son's Mustang I'llpost soon. Haven't heard from my son Mark since he landed in Irak over a week agao, is that normal?

Sounds like your son is doing well in boot camp. I'm so sorry to say I won't be attending the coffee meet and greet at MiMi's Cafe. I already have an obligation for that weekend. I will do my best to make the next gathering whenever that happens to be. I hope to meet you and Jaz eventually.

hi everybody and paul welcome, i haven`t been on in awhile my son wrote finally he said that they been told to drop so much that it doesn`t hurt to give 50 push up every 5 min. he did pass his pfa ,he got 100% on his wti,he did get 2 hits on pi, belt on backwards & collar pin was missing. he did get his marlinespike stamp he said his mca is almost over weapons simulator then live fire,he is good with a shotgun we always did clay shoots but 9mm pistol we never shot a hand gun . well it the start of his third and final fep phase, firefighting,damage control, and chemical warfare [tear gas] then to battle stations he sounds really good in spirits though letters ,letters ,letters, it keeps them going with all the support from everybody they call him a MAIL WHORE because of all the letters from everybody he said that everybody looks forward to the letters and prayer. Hay paige billy`s mom see you at the coffee shop mimi`s my wife is on navy moms she stated a site for az in navy moms her name is jaz. thx everybody for the comments and the support hope to meet at mimi`s gary

Sorry Rex we didn't get the rain or the game. I was there but not very happy with the way they played. I guess better luck next time is in order for both! Glad to be a new member of Arizona Sailors.
