Navy Dads

Hi

Does anyone have any suggestions for helping find out why my son is on HOLD? He
graduated A school last Friday and his entire class received plane tickets to
leave after graduation with the exception of him and one other student. He was
told his ticket would be ready in 5 to 10 days and in the mean time he was on
HOLD. He shows up for his first day of hold and was met with several sarcastic
remarks about welcome to being on HOLD. And how other students were told the
same thing about the tickets and have been put on hold for months with no explanations . He's concerned he is not going to make his next
duty station on time and cannot seem to get anyone directly above him to tell
him why he is on HOLD or when he will be released to go to his next duty
station. Isn't there someone in his current command that he could discuss this
issue with and find out the real reason his plane ticket/travel stuff was not
available after graduation? Everyone he has talked to thus far have been very
apathetic to his situation. Any suggestions on trying to help him figure out
what to do next is greatly appreciated.

DZ,

When i was in the Navy 20 years ago, There is thousand of resaon why he could be on hold. Ship is in a area that they cann't take on personal are any reason that may in danger his life. The Navy is good about not Transfering Personal if everything is not right. I stayed on hold in Norfolk VA for 4 Mon. Because my ship was deep into Mission. Tell him to hold tight injoy this time he will have alot of time when he gets there.

My son PIR next week and he will also be a member of the worlds best NAVY like many before him. God Bless & Go NAVY!!!!!!!!!
Jack

Thanks for the info. I guess the frustrating part is that NO ONE seems to know WHY he is on hold. His entire class graduated on Friday and left on Saturday except him and one other student. And, no one could tell him why the were left on HOLD.
