Bill - I mapquested the base to refresh my memory and the road you need is Buckley Road. If you are going north on Green Bay Rd. you will turn right on Buckley, if you are heading south on Green Bay Rd. you will turn left. God Bless, Michele :)

Bill--- after going through two PIR's I totally agree with Michele....I drove on base for the first and took the shuttle for the second.....the Shuttle is the way to go as it by-passes the LOOOOONNNGGGGGG line of cars trying to get on base. Be sure to ask about the shuttle if you plan to take it when you register at your hotel.

Bill the best way to get there if you are unsure is to take the hotel shuttles. . . It has been awhile since my son PIR'ed but I believe there is only one main gate into the base and very easy to find. You can mapquest the base or you can ask the desk clerk of your hotel how to get there, they all know where it is or can find it for you very quickly. Hope this helps . . .Michele :)

Greetings everyone! My son graduates on Jan.09/09. Does anyone know which gate we go to for base entry? I am afraid of going to the wrong gate and getting in the hall late. I have been reading some sad stories on different sites about people not making it on time. Many Thanks. Bill

Anyone know where I can get more info about the reserve program NAT (New Accession Training)? Particularly about assignments after "A" school since NAT is a 15 month active duty stint.

Anyone who has a son or daughter in NAT reserves that could help me with some info?....I would be very grateful for their correspondence.

Ivan I do not know the answer to your question. All I can say is that we will be praying for Heather. My only advice is to tell her to dig deep and give it her all. That's all you can do is give it your best effort. If by chance she falls short she will not be a failure. She has stepped up to the plate when many others would not dare. I respect the fact that she has hung in there and hasn't given up. Tell her all us here at navy dads are praying and pulling for her. We know she has what it takes to become a Sailor. Good Luck and keep us posted.

My daughter has been in BC since 08/12/08. She was sent to FIT after failing her final PFA and did not get to PIR with her original Div. While in FIT her and another recruit had a pass to go to NEX and lost track off time and reported back late. They went before a review board and taken out of FIT and assigned to a new Div. She now only has 1 more chance to pass her run. Should she not pass she is to be sent home per the review boards ruling. My question is can she appeal if she fails her run? Could she sign back up for the Navy if sent home? She really wants to be a Sailor. After this much time and money invested in her would they kick her out? She is less than a minute from making her time.

John I saw you asked the question to the recruiters. They should know for sure. I think if your son is grad and go then that's the bad thing about that. Not much time with them in that situation. He will go from Boot camp to A school. No stops in between. He should get some leave time over the holidays but he will be limited to only going 250 miles from base not farther than that though. If you are within 250 miles of his A school then great but if not he will not be able to travel any further. You can go to were he is get a hotel and he should be able to stay with you. Hope this helps but the recruiters might be able to answer in more detail.
