Crystal - The document I provided shows that the NEC he will earn will be MM 4201. (just do a search in that document for NEC 4201. Per the offical NEC manual, NEC 4201 is for MM's from E4 to E7. Like I said they Navy is always shifting places to earn a NEC, so God knows where it will be held. He will earn NEC 4201 for the O2N2 though....

Here is a jpg I copied from the offical manual that might help you...

Criag, I read through the trailer mounted O2N2 plant. The dates for lenghth of training were 25 days. So I am wondering since they told him 90 days if it is stationary and portable plant. OH well, it will be the start of his Shore duty so it will be good.

This did not look to be what we discussed. He is an MM2 going to school for Oxygen and Nitrogen. Was to be able to do medical gases ect. Was to set him up for next sea duty to be on hospital ship. He was told by the Detailer that the school is in Virgina. Guess I will just sit tight the time will be here before we know it.

Crystal,
It's located at NAMTRAGRU DET, MCAS Cherry Point (North Carolina), unless they moved it again.
Here is more info, but your going to fall asleep reading it....

I would like to know about O2 N2 school for MM's. I know it is some where in Va. and lasts about 90 days. My son is going there next Spring on his way to Key West.

Paul B ~ Sea pay is given to sailors that serve on ship. It's a bonus for being stuck on a big piece of Haze Grey metel. I have attached the pay charts for the Navy. One thing that is easy to remember is anything that has the word "pay" in it is taxible (Sea pay, Hardship pay..ect), and those that don't are not taxible (BAH, BAS, Dislocation Allowance, Clothing Allowance...ect).

What is the difference between 'sea pay' and regular pay? Saw this somewhere and was just wondering....

Craig:

Thanks for the info. I was looking for a gold pendant to wear on a chain. Our anniversary is this weekend and of course I wait until the last minute. So custom for now does not work maybe for Christmas. Also went to the web site Craig suggested but they do not have pendants. They only have pins.

I will continue to look.

Thanks Again,

Steve
