If they do not pass battle stations they will get set back a week and will try again. If he passed battle stations than he is good to go. I quess they call the recruiter to inform them of the set back. I hope everything is good to go. Have a safe trip.

We are flying on Wednesday in the morning, we couldn't get a flight Thursday morning. Something else to worry about for the next two weeks. If they don't pass, what happens? Why do they call their recruiter?

Thanks Kevin. That is what I was about to say. LOL

Thanks Kevin, and you are right, I'm hoping for good news. Sad part is, the longer you wait, the more expensive airfare is and I don't know that Southwest has refundable tickets. Oh well, we already have ours, so I'm not only hoping for good news, I'm praying! The capping ceremony, is that where they get to put the ball caps on that say Navy? When Luke called, did he have unlimited talking time?

Well, nobody else has rogered up, so I'll take a crack at it. My guess is that they'd rather have folks buy a refundable ticket early (for cheaper?) and make an upgrade, than find out later and pay through the nose. Unfortunately, as you perceived, we don't know for sure that they'll PIR until after the capping ceremony. We found out Wednesday afternoon (3 PM) that Luke had passed, and was now officially a Sailor. It was a great phone call. Some folks may have found out as late as Thursday. Your PIR packet states that they will call home and recruiter if they will not PIR. Hoping for good news!

Why do they send out PIR packets so early, if we won't know until almost the last minute whether or not they'll graduate? There will be no 'I might get to call....maybe' after Battle Station, right? They will call. Yes?

Some say that "Naval Intelligence" is an oxymoron, or a contradiction of terms...somehow, the ships get underway!

Thanks Kevin, that helps. I know they have a lot of recruits up there, but I have NO idea of how the military runs, or what to expect.

Yes, during the last week. Luke's training group had 10 divisions, so they probably started running them through on Monday and the last finished sometime Thursday. It's a long process for each division. Luke started at 8:30 PM on Tuesday and ended around 10 AM Wednesday. We finally heard from him Wednesday afternoon, after the capping ceremony. From what I read some finished Monday night, others finished as late as Thursday. Sorry I can't be more specific, so pray for him all week!

You guys have any idea of when, during the last week, they do Battlestations?
