Ryan,
Any word on your entry into the Navy?

Robert D -
Yes, that is what it has been for some time, sorry to say. However, you don't mention your son's age, education level, AFQT (ASVAB) score nor his medical profile, so I would only be shooting in the dark as to any further information. If you want to discuss this further in a different setting - pm me.

My son took his asvab test in Feb. (over 50) and medical in March. His recruiter kept telling him that he was going in at the end of each month. He then called him at the end of April to say that the Navy is only accepting high school seniors in the dep program, folks who qualify for nukes, and women. He further mentioned that he does not know when the next openings will be....has anyone else received that information, or anything different? Thanks.

I have been waiting since March and I have been through MEPs and passed everything. I needed to get a waiver for speeding tickets in which the recruiter stated that it is apporoved. Yesterday the recruiter stated that I was in and that they are throwing me in at the end of this month, they stated the same thing last month and nothing happened. Should I be patient and continue to wait before I try for the Army. Thank you for you time

Snooky,
As the economy continues its current trend, we will see a lag of jobs, even in the Navy, including AO.

Mark,
I see officers quite a bit (even in recruiting) and the O's I speak to and call LT (f0r instance) are prior enlisted (LDO's) and they respond. I usually just call them sir/ma'am - it's simpler and they like it.

Chief, when I was in we always referred to officers O4 and below as Mr. So and
So. L.T. was never used in the Navy back then (1976-80). Senior officers were addressed with their rank. A recruiter here told us they don't do that anymore. She said everyone is addressed by rank.
