Chuck thanks for the kind words. Evan has been adjusting to the ship. So far he has loved every step of the Navy. I hope Andrew does well on the test. Let me know how he does.

Glad to hear that Evan is doing well. He will find his way and fit into the team as his "on the job experience" continues. Sea legs come with time too.
Andrew sits for his E-4 exam some time today. We wished him well via text message last night. He says he'll take the test and se what happens.

Kevin not sure of exactly the plane. He did say it is the biggest plane that they land on carriers. He's still learning. In a couple of weeks I'm sure he'll know them all. He lucked out getting the bubble. It does deal with the catapult system. Air conditioned and safe. We like that he's in there. He has one of the best views of all the chaos on the roof. I'm sure he'll do his time as well on the deck. Glad to hear Luke is finishing up. Let me know where he'll be stationed and what ship. Carriers shouldn't move around to much but he did say that it was a rough day at sea for his first day. It'll get better.

EG, I must say I am a bit shocked to hear that Evan is trying to get his "sea legs"...he's on a floating city, after all! I remember standing on the hangar deck or flight deck during an unrep, watching to poor "small boys" really rocking and rolling in the swells while we just "mosied along". I think he may be a little confused about the COD, I think the last c-130 came aboard a carrier back in 1964 or thereabouts. They don't have tailhooks, but the C2s do! As for the roof, I've seen the guys in the bubble, but never been in there myself. I think that's where the catapault controls are located. Luke should finish GM ATT today (if he didn't get done last night) and start the real GM training. Blessings!

Kevin I believe he said he flew in on a c 130. He said the landing on the carrier was wild. He did his first day on the roof yesterday. He worked in the bubble. He loves the view from there. He said it is beautiful watching the planes take off at night. So far so good. He's loving it. He's doing good with his sea legs, adjusting really well to the rocking and rolling. I'll keep ya updated. Thanks for the prayers. I'll tell him you asked about him. How's Luke doing?

Hey EG, did he fly aboard on the COD? My first landing on a carrier was in a H-53, pretty tame. Later on I experienced a landing and a take-off (cat shot) in a C-2 Greyhound (COD). What a rush! Glad to hear he's doing well and getting checked aboard. We'll keep praying for Evan.

From P'cola to San Diego and now USS Ronald Reagan. The boy has been busy lately. He arrived on the ship today. Safe and sound. He said the landing was crazy. Now he's trying to get his sea legs. Tell Andrew good luck with the test.

That's great news!! World traveler just out of A school. Andrew has at least one more week at Pensacola. He is to take the E-4 exam some time this week. I would like him to pass and advance before he reaches his command. He has two more months of train the on to Hawaii.

Just wanted to tell everyone Evan has made it to Bahrain safely. I think he will spend a couple of days there before heading to the ship.

Andrew phoned last night. It looks like he intends to stop at home for about 5 days and the on to Washington State to finish off training. Then to that Hawaii place. I will pass on the request to trade places. NO PROMISES ON HOW THAT WIIL FLY!!!
