Hey Suzi, My son Jeff is still at the training squadron and I think he stays in training until after Christmas. He has his first check ride on Monday so a weekend full of prayers.
Still all said sounds like pretty good duty, I'm pleased with his assignment and he really likes it there.
Ooppps again....I meant that he found out two days ago that he is leaving next week. Are either of your sons with VQ-3?
Hey Suzi mine is leaving very shortly!
oppsss..think I messed up the o-strand....maybe it was not part of AWO.....I'm "just" a mom, lol.
But....my son is enjoying his decision. Hopefully your daughter will enjoy it as well. Wonder if she will end up at Tinker, too.
M Shepard....my son is AWV. She will do "O" strand of AWO training at least this is what my son had said. She will have to do SERE which my son actually enjoyed if you can believe that. He also said that they added a few months to the AWV pipeline which qualifies them to do the job of two rates. My son is at Tinker AFB in OK. He is now with VQ-3 Ironman Squadron after doing training with VQ-7. He is thrilled to be on an E-6B Mercury as he was originally told his platform would be the Orion which is being replaced by the Poseidon.
M Shepard,
Well if she is aircrew then she does a bit different training than I did. I did AWAT maybe she does do AWAP or something. I am not sure of there side of the house.
M Shepard,
Is your daughter in Pensacola of Great Lakes? She is going through AWAT (Aviation Warfare Apprentice Training) and then through ATT (Apprentice Technical Training). AWAT is a short computer based course and ATT is a course designed to be a few weeks long.
Not Classed up yet. Preliminary traiming for Aircraft firefighting
Alyssa is settling in to the routine in Pensacola. Class up tomorrow I think?
