Chuck hope all is well. And wanted to let everyone know my Sailor finishes SERE school today. I heard from him yesterday and sounds good.
Chuck, condolences to you and your family. It may be helpful to find a chaplain at NAS Brunswick who can be with him. I have also had good luck working with the Ombudsman from my son's squadron when it comes to making arrangements and contact info. If possible, a family member could meet him and drive him home at the conclusion of SERE.
Sorry Chuck.
My condolences Chuck! Sorry for your loss.
My sympathies Chuck!
So my mom passed away on Friday morning. Funeral Mass in the morning. Jeff is in the isolated portion of SERE. I spoke with his training Officer at Tinker today. He seemed to think Jeff will be able to come home for a couple days after he gets out of SERE. He is making some phone calls. I just don't want him to find out alone when he turns his phone back on and goes to put he survived on his facebook. All your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
Sorry to hear that ChuckW, that is a tough call.
Chuck - it's 14 days he'll never forget. My son went through in CA four years ago. He remembers several items to this date...and it keeps him on edge while flying - in a positive way. He is returning from his second deployment right now. I remember my son telling me how he went straight to a restaurant in San Diego aftere SERE....and couldn't eat a thing. It takes a few days for your system to adjust. Good luck to your son.
