My son's 3rd year crew member flight is scheduled for 0930 Saturday in the Blue's #7 jet!  If you're in the El Centro, CA, area and see him flying overhead, give him a wave!  Go Navy!  Fly Blues!

I have an unconfirmed report that the Indianapolis airshow is canceled; all military jet teams are grounded until further notice; and the military will not support any airshows this season.  This is still unconfirmed.

Yuma is 1 hour east of El Centro.  We will be in the area from March 13 to March 20.  Right now, our scheduled days in El Centro are the 15th and 16th; the rest in Yuma visiting friends.

We've booked flights out to Yuma so we can attend the 1st show of the season on March 16th in El Centro.  David should be able to get us a place to stay on base for a couple nights.  The rest of the time, we'll be visiting friends in Yuma and enjoying the warm weather!  It should be great seeing some of the behind-the-scenes action at one of the Blues' home bases.

Go Navy!  Fly Blues!

David is in his 3rd and final year with the Blues.  He and the other crew chief for the #1 jet are finalizing their season schedules so he should be sending his to me soon.  He did say he has 12 or 13 shows this year.  He will be leaving the Navy in November and he plans to take some leave prior to that so he doesn't have any shows the last month or so, as far as I know.  I'll post his sked when I get it.  As for taking them out to lunch or dinner, they are usually very busy at the shows and things are rather unpredictable so that may be difficult if not impossible.  You would have to see how things are going the day of the show.

Mike,

I just wanted to drop by the group to see if David would be with the Blues for the 2013 season. I noticed in my local paper that the Angels are returning to my town for the first time in 18 years. So I'm definitely making it to the show in May and I hope to finally meet David. I also hope to have the honor to treat him and his crew to a lunch or dinner why they're in town if possible.

The Blues completed a successful airshow season yesterday.  Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy forced us to cancel our trip to Pensacola so we missed the last show.  Today is the change-of-command ceremony when Cdr. Thomas Frosch will be taking command from Capt. Greg McWherter.  Thanks to Boss McWherter and Boss Koss for their work the past two seasons.  We look forward to 2013!  Go Navy!  Fly Blues!

No, we were flying out of Newark, NJ.  It looks like our flight is already canceled.  My wife could never take driving to P'cola; it's about 18 hours each way.  Maybe some other time.
