I believe that is the format that the Navy uses to notify the recruiters office. I have not received notice of any change in format that we should use when writing to our SR's.

  For my daughter I was told the format should be listed just as I have it below.  I even received a packet from my daughter saying the same thing.  I changed the division to match yours.  Her ship is the same as yours  Here it is:

 

 

 SR (last name), (first) (Mi)

 Recruit Training Command

 Ship 9 Division 319

 USS John F Kennedy (CV-67)

 3415 Sailor Drive

 Great Lakes, IL  60088-3415

We just received our address letter early last week and the address was exactly like in the navy.mil regs and what Rich posted in his follow on comment, with the addition of the sailor's name, of course.  Even if the format were to change, I certainly can't imagine them doing that mid stream with a particular class of recruits.  I recall a similar problem with a female recruits address on the navyformoms site, where they had gotten the ship wrong or something.  You may want to check that out, too.

I am still waiting for my letter. How long does it take to get here. My son left July 29th.

We have not received our info letter yet. It's been a week.

Peter, My daughter left 7/29 as well. As of yesterday we had not received the form letter either. Most of the mail from the SR's goes out on Sundays, so depending on your location, you should be seeing it soon. I do know that my wife saw on Navy For Moms that a lady whose SR left the same day as your son/my daughter, received their letter yesterday. I don't know their location. I am in Las Vegas, so am figuring on seeing it by Thursday. Hope that helps.

You should receive your letter in about 10-12 days depending on where you are located.

My apologies. 10-12 days after his arrival to RTC. My son called from RTC to tell us he got there and we got our letter about 10-12 days later.
