Navy Dads

My son's PIR is scheduled for Oct. 14, just two days from now. In fact, my wife and I, along with his girlfriend, are set to board a plane tomorrow morning to fly to Great Lakes, and yet I've still received no "I'm a sailor" phone call. Is this unusual to wait this late in the game? To say that we're all getting nervous would be a drastic understatement!

At this point, he is almost there! Expect the call at any moment...enjoy PIR! My call came at just about the same time....I expect that all is well....

Glenn,

Got my sons call two days prior to his PIR last month. No news is good news and there would have been a call to you if something was not right.

James

We were actually en route to Great Lakes last Wednesday when we got our call (our son's PIR was Friday 10/7). But our son had told us approximately when he would call. I would expect you should get your call this afternoon. Enjoy your trip. PIR is something you will never forget.

We had an 13 hour drive and didn't get our call until we were in our hotel room! Congratulations and enjoy your time.

Thanks guys! I'm trying to keep the faith. Hate to step away from the phone even for a minute, but I have to take the dog to the kennel!

Glenn, I got mine at 1:45 pm PST yesterday. I know exactly how you feel. All of these negative thoughts just kept coming into my mind. My son went through BS 21 Monday night into Tuesday. No details. he just sounded tired. Hang in there.

Glenn . . . we're in the same boat - so to speak. My son is in Div. 348, Ship 3. I was hoping to hear from him first thing this a.m. after he completed BS21. I, too, am anxiously awaiting his call.  Have a safe trip to Great Lakes. My wife and I are driving up from near Kansas City in the morning as well.

No reports either from Ship 3/Div 347...

Now hear this: Just got the phone call ... HE PASSED BS21 and will graduate on time ... and we'll be there! I'm soooo relieved. Sorry, folks, for getting kinda squirrely there when I was almost freaking out! Great to have the support ... and good luck to you other people still waiting to hear!

Congrats Glenn and Bravo Zulu to Aaron!...

YYEESSS!!!!

Congrats Glenn to you and your son  - we'll see you Friday!!
