Does the "I'm a Sailor" call always happen?  Our son is supposed to graduate on Friday and I was hoping that we would get that call this morning.  Can someone confirm that it always happens or sometimes it doesn't?  Thanks

I got my call on Wed of graduation week at 3 pm. Was getting on the road at 5

Hang in there, your sailor is finishing up as we speak.

Enjoy Friday

Thanks, Buzz.  My wife and I are so anxious to hear his voice and confirm that he is finally a United States Sailor!!

Savor the moment, get there early to get good seats. If driving on base, don't forget your pass
Hi Andrew! My son also graduates this Friday & we received the I'm a Sailor call last Friday. My son is Ship 14 Div 260. Do you know what day he has Battlststions?

I thought Battlestations happened the week of graduation.  He is in Division 263.  What I have heard is no news is good news.  That's great but we are driving from NC for the graduation and I would love to have the assurance that he is going to graduate.

It is one of the guaranteed calls...always happens!

Philippians 4:6-7. Praying for you. Remember how it was 7 weeks ago. You are almost there. As someone else suggested, savor it
I m not clear on when It happens, but have read on here, you could get the call as late as the day before they graduate .

My son graduated July 15th and we got the called Wednesday evening at about 7pm You will get a call and he was able to stay on the phone quite a while. It made us feel so happy. You will get a call...and congratulations.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement.  We got the call around 6pm and he is officially a sailor.  Praise God!!  I hope to meet some of you guys at Sarge's Meet&Greet tonight.

That is great news! Congratulations!! Looking forward to tonight as well!
Does anyone know if the parking is needed for the whole weekend or just for graduation day?
