My son leaves for bootcamp this Sunday! 5-8-11
I'm sure I will be visiting quite a bit more in the coming weeks, I'm starting to get the Dad jitters now that my son will be leaving in 5 days for bootcamp.
Ever since my son (Taylor) was 8 yrs old he has always wanted to go into the navy, even at that young age his goal has always been to strive to be a Seal.
I am so proud of him right now I could burst, but I can't help but to feel that I still have that overwhelming feeling that I need to be there for him.
I know he will be in the absolute best hands possible, however bottom line, I'm gonna really miss my son !
I'm sure I will be coming here looking for a little support and I'm sure that in all reality, I shouldn't waste my time worrying but rather know that my son will be a new man once I see him at graduation. He will be a NAVY MAN!

My daughter just graduated from Boot Camp at PIR. I know how you feel... Liberty is a great thing to have after graduation... I had alot of worrisome feelings about her in Boot Camp, but the Navy is the best service to be in... once your in the Navy's care... your shipmates will not let you down!

Well it's been a week now, and today I just received the navy letter with my boys address and graduation date... Ship 2 Div. 932. Graduation date 7/1/2011. Gonna be a proud day !

Hi all,
Well what a great day today, just received my first letter from my recruit in the mail. It was just so great to read his words, he's complaining a little about all of the yelling that his group is taking because of the ones that "Just don't get it yet" LOL... but once they develop as a "TEAM", they will understand what it is about !
My son is in Division 932 Ship 02,,, he is due to graduate on July 1st !
He wrote to me and said that he was put into a special division called the "Navy Silent Drill Team", he said that he will be performing with this division at his graduation ! I couldn't be more proud, but am wondering if anybody knows what this special honor is all about ?
He sounded like he is doing great, talked about all the shots and the famous "Peanut Butter Shot" LOL, then said that they pulled 3 wisdom teeth too LOL,, had him layed up for a couple of days.
Anyways, as I am going thru this with him, I can only say that receiving the first letter makes this a
WONDERFUL DAY !!!!

veryconfused my son is now in hotel doing nothing sitting around he says he is heading to the local military base here in ny where as we thought he was heading to chicagao does anybody have any idea whats going because even he dont know im getting know sleep and my son basically hasnt even left the neighborhood id this normal what is going to happen next
