Navy Dads

I just got my form letter from my son and am looking to meet up with any dads and moms at P.I.R. on Sept. 1st. This is my second P.I.R. so I guess you could say that I'm an old salt now. Jump in here and give your SR's Ship and Div. #.

Tim, when did your son arrive at Great Lakes.  My son and my daughter arrived last Monday and Tuesday.  Wondering if they will PIR on 9/1.

Best of luck to you and your son.

Rich My son arrived the 6th of July. You can count out 8 weeks from the day that they left and that friday will usually be the week that their P.I.R. will be on. Your son and daughters P.I.R. will probably be the week of the 9th of Sept.

Hey Jesse,

How is he doing?

Probably haven't heard anything yet!

Praying for strength and endurance epecially if they are out in this 100 degree heat.

I'm not really worried about Ethan with the warm weather they are experiencing. He grew up in Oklahoma where its 100* + 60 days out of the summer. My worry is if he has to stay in great lakes through the winter. We don't get alot of snow very often.

Got a letter from Ethan yesterday. He seemed better than the call we got Saturday nite. The doctors think he has pneumonia so he has been on light duty. Says that basic isn't to bad but being sick sucks ass. So far hasn't been removed from his division but there have been 2 kids already sent home from bad cases of pneumonia. Fingers are crossed hoping for speedy recovery and that he gets to stay on track for P.I.R. just 5 weeks away excitement is mounting here. Mom and girlfriend are anxious to see their man, dad misses him too.
Almost halfway there it will be upon us before you know it. Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Good luck to your sailors.

We just got off the phone with Ethan again and he says that the Dr's. say that the pneumonia is gone and that it wasn't a very big paatch of it. He is still feeling the effects of it but is doing better. We are still on board for a September 1st P.I.R. WOOHOO!!!!

Jim you and Bev don't have to use a day of vacation we will be there all weekend. we are coming in on wednesday morning and leaving out the nite of the 5th. My nephew flies out from O'hare for a year deployment in Turkey. Yes we are still planning on Geocaching, we are looking at hitting at least 1 geocache in the states of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.

My Daughter is in Ship 11 Div. 281   Sept 1 Cannot wait I am so Proud.

We recieved the 3 week call last night, it was great to hear her voice, she sounded great!

My daughter is now Ship 12 Div 287.

She unfortunately failed the run and got sent back two weeks - she has shin splints and her knees are pretty screwed up from the boots. Same thing happened to me when I went in; I went to med hold and didn't have to repeat anything, though.

I feel so bad for her - right now she's discouraged and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

She's an LPO.
