Navy Dads

Hello, my son is a recruit on ship:03 Div:369 with his PIR scheduled for Nov. 9th. My last letter from him was reassuring and they are all getting pumped up for BS21. I expect one more letter from him tomorrow and then hopefully a very good phone call by the end of the week.

For anyone else out there with a sailor recruit on ship:03 div:369 I offer you my thoughts and prayers. The next week and a half are gonna be a heck of a ride. Good luck to them all.

Hi Jason,

my son is on ship 03 Div370. I also am waiting for that call, seems as though Thursdays  has been the consistant day for his calls( right in the middle of my rounds) They ALL know at work THAT  phone call halts everything!!! Im sure BS21 is going well, ans see you on the 9th!!!

Howdy Mark,

Yea Thursdays seem to be the day that the calls start coming in from what I have seen out there, and like you my world comes to an official stop once the phone starts ringing. lol

Everyone here is starting to get real pumped up about PIR and the trip to Great Lakes. So I cant even begin to imagine how pumped up they are right now about being at the end of their basic training.

I've noticed a huge difference in Austins letters home each time one comes in. At first he seemed scared

and confused, but that was expected. Now his letters are all about the tasks at hand and have become more focused. He was promoted to "Forward Hold", I'm not real sure what the heck that means so if anyone knows the answer to that it would be greatly appreciated. I am former Army so some of the Navy lingo is unfamiliar territory to me.
