anybody else have loved ones in my husbands division?

Cidney,
My son Michael is in your husbands division. His rating is EN-Engineman. He is single so I am sure it must be much tougher for your husband with a wife and child. In any case, we received his first letter Friday. It was pretty upbeat overall, he spoke of a lot of yelling and PT but good food and friends( rack mates as he is already saying). I think that is the most important thing goimg for them, the shared experince and support they get from each other as well as family.
Like I said, overall it sounds like the divion is coming together and he was upbeat. Based on the traning schedule they are starting week 3.
In a hands-on environment, this week you will learn first aid techniques, signalling with flags, the proper procedure to board and disembark a ship, and basic seamanship. You will do this training on a real ship situated in a large hangar. Your first PT (physical training) test is administered during week three, the areas tested are 1.5 mile run, push-ups and sit-ups. This is often called the PT0, because it is the starting point from which you will improve.
We have been writing him reularly so hopefully he has already seen a couple of the letters. My best to your family and hang in there. You have every right to be proud and time will pass quaickly. See you in Great Lakes on April 20.
Jesse,
that is great to hear that your son is doing well! My husband has also said the same thing about his division. My husband is going in a culinary specialist-CS, and has met some other recruits who are in the same job field as him. He also told me he loves bootcamp because of the daily challenges he faces and everyday it is always something different.
It was very hard during the first week just because our son, Aiden (who is 15 months), asked for my husband constantly, but as the weeks came and went, Aiden stopped asking where he is, and now gives my husbands pictures tons of hugs and kisses.
I have been writing my husband everyday, so I hope he has gotten all my letters so far. I cant wait to see him next month and I cannot expresss how proud I am of him. Thank you for replying to my post, and I will definately see you next month!! tell your son that I am proud of him too!!
