Navy Dads

We just received our son's box and found his address through his recruiter.  He left for Basic last Thursday, so not sure what his projected PIR is.  Anyone else early in this process like me?  Happy to be able to get the letters of encouragement flowing.

Friday, we got a call from our SR in Ship 11, Div 116. He said he was doing well, though hurt his knee doing PT.  It's not so bad that he can't march, but he was on light duty.  He also said that he was "the stick", ie. the flag bearer, marching in front.

A week ago, I sent him some news articles because he likes to keep up with current events.  He said he appreciated that because they do not have any way to access news, papers, or TV.

I am told that that there are only 7 divisions with April 1 PIR date, so this will be a somewhat small grad group.

My wife and I have reservations at the Navy Lodge. We have seen a lot of positive posts about the NL at Great Lakes, and I believe it is the closest lodging to RTC.  They told me that since I am non-military, my SR will have to provide his Navy ID upon check-in.  We are so stoked, 32 days and counting.

Randy, my wife is on N4M all the time.  She is going to make the scarves for Div 116 moms.  Theirs are white.

Our Division is going with Navy Blue.If you would like to look her up her name is Monica Grimes.
What a journey.  I expect that right now Aaron is going through Battle Stations and will soon be a Sailor.  He called Saturday and we talked for about 30 minutes.  Family is incredibly anxious to see him on Friday.  Thanks for all the support through this process.
