Got first letter from my son on the 6th. Anyone else with him?

My son is in the same Ship and Division. All we have received so far is about a paragraph that was written on the back of his forms that told us when graduation was. He seemed upbeat. Cannot say that we are waitng patiently, because we are not. However with that being said I know that they are extremely busy right now.
I know how you fell. Yesterday I did receive a letter form my son, 9 lines yes that's it 9 whole lines. lol I know he doesn't like writing but REALLY!!! Anyway he sounds good and is having no problems. He said "What messes with everyone here is not the training but their emotions and their mouths. He said it’s easy, just learn, obey, and pass their tests. Hopefully you’ll hear from you son soon.
Where are you from? Are you planning on going to the PIR?

we have said that to many, many parents....the secret to bootcamp is do what you are told, keep your mouth shut, and pay attention to details......
We are from Minnesota and do plan on being there for PIR. I am looking forward to it, as I have heard that it is pretty intense and an amazing time. Most importantly we will get a chance to see him, it has been hard on my wife not hearing from him but with 3 other kids at home, she is busy with them, so that helps.
As far as boot camp basics go - I think he was prepared for paying attention and staying quiet. I know he can do it. It was funny in his first small letter he said that his biggest struggle was making racks, and that he would just keep working on it. No sign of giving up.
Thanks and look forward to meeting the other parents.
LOL. Kenny said the same thing about making his rack! Living in SC all he usually had on his bed was a sheet. I stayed in Mankato, Mi one winter years ago. Was the coldest days of my life. LOL
Hey Doug, I got a 10 minute phone call from my son today! He sounded great but still can't make-up his rack. lol Have you heard from yours yet?
Yep We heard from Nick on Wednesday afternoon, the same morning we received his letter. It was good to hear from him but all the questions we had for him quickly flew out of our minds, when we were actually talking to him. He said that everything is going good but he was still concerned about some of the tests they had, his rack making is getting better and is not as much of a concern, he said that thanking his rackmate, who has helped him a little. He said that he passed the first inspection and PT. Cannot wait to hear from him again. He said that while the women in his division were having some issues getting along, he said that the guys are getting along too well and maybe talk too much.
