Thank you, My Daughter didnt get there till the 18th.

Ship 11 / Division 83.....sounds like we may be neighbors, my son arrived on the 10th.  PIR on 3/9 ?

Daughter left on 10 Jan.

Where's the PIR Group page? How do I get to it.

?

This crew should be in week 6 and still going strong. It should be exciting for them as well as challenging. Their letters will most likely concerns some parents but rest assured, safety is number one. The should be learning about shipboard fire-fighting, damage control and any other subject dealing with saving a ship. Then there is the gas chamber. It's a modified, diluted version of the real thing but it gives them a sense of what the real stuff is like. Besides, it really clears up the sinus tract. Being a former Army Drill Sergeant (Infantry) this is the most "unflattering" part of training. No one wants to be seen "crying with snot running uncontrolably down their face". Keep those cards and letters going to your sailor. They determine how well they will do in boot. Few letters means little family support. Even if you "have nothing to wirte about", just say HI or send some news clippings. ANY MAIL IS BETTER THAN NO MAIL.

Rick , Thanks so much for the Update man ! I have been sending mail just about everyday ! My son told my wife and I how much mail has meant to him ! We even ask for names of other SR's who aren't getting mail . 3/9/12 is so close ! Getting stoked !

Three weeks to go. Making reservations. She's excited about Battle Stations 21.

Just talked to my son Rick he is also excited to get to the next phase . Battle stations is on deck! I have booked my room and I'm working on a car rental ! Looking at enterprise for the car and staying at the Marriott Courtyard .

Have two rooms booked at the Navy Lodge. Going to try and be there for "Sarge's Meet & Greet" the Thursday prior to PIR. Looks like a good event. Lets keep sending our sailors those letters no matter what and it wont be long now.

Hey Rick , next week man !!!! I'm praying for our SR's bro!
