Navy Dads

Just curious and would love to know if there are any other dads out there with Recruits in ship 13 Div 206 - We just received a form letter from my son last week and got a surprise call from him on Sat. Got to wish his mom a Happy Mother's Day. I could hear the resolve in his voice even though it was a brief call.

That is special Robb thanks for sharing. Our sailor came home for the first time in 5 months since leaving for bootcamp. He got to visit with family and friends on Mother's Day so we can appreciate how important the phone call was. Your sailor is in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks, Richard! We very much appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We will remember your clan as well.

Hi Robb,

My son graduated a few weeks back, and all I can tell you is (believe it or not) the time will begin to pass quickly.  My son got to make a few calls while in Great Lakes because his ship was getting things done and working together right away.  Write him as often as you can because the letters are what keep them going.  The reward for all the heart ache is that graduation ceremony.  I posted right after we got home that it was one of the greatest experiences of my life to see.  Good luck to you, your family and of course, your sailor.  PS…this web site is the best!!!

Thanks, Marco!

You bet Robb…if there is anything I can answer for you let me know.  We drove from MD to see the graduation and stayed at Navy Lodge…I know it might seem like a a while, but we started getting everything set up after a couple weeks…plus that make the time really start to fly.  Take care.

We also have a son in ship 13 div 206 graduating on 6/20/14 we got the form letter last week and a call at 15:30 last Saturday have not revived any letters so far

Brian... Thanks for responding. You're the first that I've found to have a son in my son's division. We have not received any letters (other than the form letter) yet either. If not for that call last Saturday, my wife and I would be a bit undone with worry and wonder over how he's doing. I/we would love a chance to meet you and yours at graduation in June. - r

know it's tough these first weeks Robb...you'll stress less if you live by the motto "no news is good news"....you are lucky you got a call- that usually does not happen until week 3 or so- take a breath and assume all is good!

we are from Minnesota are son is 19 he will be going to Mississippi for A school as a AG

My eldest son is at Boot Camp in this very Ship & Division; we've heard from him twice and ha sent ll members of our family a letter. However, he cannot compete to his letter writing Mama, her arm and her in have been on fire sine Chase left. He's doing well,  nervous as well though. Coming so far, yet so far to go until graduation. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Proud Dad,

Erik
