I hope I am not the only one with a son in this division :)

We all have sons, daughters, spouses or friends in every division.  Just by proxy.  These designations will no longer matter after Boot Camp is completed.  People scatter, go to different schools, receive different assignments and may never see each other again.  Our daughter still stays in contact with a few people, even though they're on different ships with different deployment schedules and even serving in different countries.  What was funny was on her first ship she ran into a young man from where we live, and they'd gone through high school together, but didn't even know each was in BC at the same time.

Understood Chris, this is my 7th child to experience boot camp, basic training etc. but my first in the navy.  I have found that it helps parents get through if they can chat with other parents that have children in the same unit/ship/etc.  Just looking to help and be helped to get to graduation day

Excellent!  A veteran of the waiting and not hearing.  LOL!  Welcome to the Navy!  You've probably seen around here somewhere the information about pre-PIR meetings/social evening with some grub.  That's a good place to mingle, and also pretty informative.   When PIR arrives, they will have "host" people directing you to seating in the stands where you will be face-to-face with your Son's division, too.  It is well-organized.

awesome, thanks for the welcome.  Still trying to find my way around the site, tons of great info
