they arrive at different times during the week......target 8 Fridays after they arrive

Nice to know I'm/we're not alone in this.  My son left for RTC this afternoon and we just received a 10 second call from him stating that indeed he made it there.  Someone once said, "Only love can break your heart."  While mine may not be down right broke, it surely took a serious whomping over the last several hours.  This became blatantly obvious when we got home, especially when I entered his room and admired the pictures and other items on his shelves.  Where did all that time go?  Despite this sorrow, I couldn't be prouder, nor more honored, to have my son serve in the US Navy with yours', and those of others', sailors.

From what I understand about the timing of PIR:  Once they are assigned a DIV group, PIR dates are listed on the bottom right of this page under PIR dates.  

May our recruits be safe.

You're not alone in this Paul......every single one of us went through this....some more than once.  And you are correct about the dates: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

it might not seem like it, but the 8 weeks will go faster than you think they will.......

Phil ,

Our son also left from Jax on tuesday on the 2:48p.m. flight. I spoke with his recruiter today. He said that Dillon's PIR date is Feb.8th @ 9a.m. unless he gets injured or something unforseen happens.

I'm hoping others reply to this post so we can track PIR together.  It's a mystery to me since I understand a number of recruits originally scheduled for the next 2 weeks were moved up and with the holidays, who knows if normal scheduling is in effect.  Guess we'll see.

my son arrived in GL on 10-dec.  it seem pretty safe for a 8-feb PIR, but perhaps we won't know for sure 'til the form letter arrives.  here is a very informative link left to me by mikeA regarding december GL arrivals ...

as a GUIDE you can roughly figure 8 Fridays after arrival.....wait for the form letter and pay attention to the DIV number then check this link: http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

My son left on the 13th and got a letter stating his pir is the 8th of feb. He's on ship 13 div 100

my SR ship 13 Div 100,  sent 3rd letter home he ask about his XBOX , could be wthdrawls, hee hee. things are going well , he enjoys the food    PIR 08FEB13"
