Captain's Cup is a fun, friendly athletic event held on the Saturday prior to a training group's graduation. The recruits get a free morning to enjoy some fun competition between the divisions in their training group.
Events include basketball, volleyball, relay races, tug-of-war and more. There is a winning division for the non-integrated (all-male) divisions and one winning division in the integrated (male/female) divisions.
The competition starts with a one-minute motivational chant that each division creates and choreographs and then performs. It may be a rap routine, stomp, cheer, or something with singing and dancing. The most original or unique chant wins a trophy.
After that, the events begin and it goes on for about 3 hours. Recruits sign up for the different events based on their individual strengths.
Each winning division receives a traveling trophy to display in their ships as well as a Captain's Cup flag that they will carry during graduation. This event gives the recruits the opportunity to display their athleticism they have built up during boot camp.
