We're from Norwalk, an my son has been at Groton BESS (this is his last week). Now he's on his way to Kings Bay where is seems like he'll be on hold 'til Feb.

Any way, hello to my fellow nutmegs. ^_^

Hi Jack. Yes, Devon is coming home for Christmas. Oddly enough, the date he's coming home is 12/18. He will be here until 01/03. He also asked me to come up for Thanksgiving which I'm working out now with his girlfriend. May be driving up there.

Devon moved again and also asked me to send his X-Box. Too funny. Said he had dinner with the Captain last night along with others and got to sit next to her and talk to her the whole time. Had a blast.

Thank you very much. I just got back today and it was incredible. We had a great weekend with him and I feel so much better now knowing we can get a hold of him so much easier going forward. PIR was great experience.

Hi Barbara. Thanks for the advice. I didn't know there was a meet and greet the night before and I will check out the Navy pier. We love Kayaking the Farmington River. I was hoping for a call tonight. It's the end of week two in boot camp. Guess it will be next week.

Hi , we live in columbia ct. we started getting letters about week 3 then once a week till pir. I lived for those letters every week. He always sounded upbeat and focused on what he was there for. I know he is very busy now so I try real hard to remember that. The next few weeks will be difficult so he is on my mind alot. I was amazed when I saw him in uniform, He looked so different. He was always a serious kid but this was different. I saw from your pictures your son kyaks. Mine too, He was a whitewater instructer at collinsville . My husband and my son both loved it. they did alot of the rivers in ct maine and mass. My husband misses him alot. they did alot together. My son got married last July and enlisted last August, he did pir june 19th. His wife will join him next year. He should be stationed somewhere by then. Your wife may enjoy navy moms .com It is a really great site as well. Try to go to the meet and Greet the nite before grad. It is alot of fun to meet other families. we also went to the navy pier with the kids , it is very nice. Barbara

We booked a couple days ago. We are staying at the Marriott. Homewood does sound good though. Devon is only in week two of bootcamp and we only received one call so far. I'm looking forward to his first letters and when he can call again.
What part of CT are you from?
