Well Molly is finally an offocial CTR as of last Wednesday, she is ready to leave Florida and head to new horizons and a chance to have an actual job and put all of her new knowledge to work. She will be home for Christmas then should have another leave after the release from Pensicola sometime next year then on to the (being very non specific) mountains of WV. Any one know any unclassified info on this duty station? .

We just learned that our son could stay an E3 for up to two years because he will be a CTI. It depends on how long the course is for the language he gets assigned.

Congrats Joe and David on both your sons success. My daughter just promoted to CTR-3. She graduated A school earlier this year. The time does go quickly. I would mention to any of our sailors to check out the STA-21 program, (Seaman to Admiral) My daughter is working toward applying for the program. You need to have all your ducks in a row before you apply, but what an awesome opportunity for these young folks. While their civilian peers are racking up enormous college debts, only to find there are few jobs available when they graduate, these young sailors have a paycheck, get a free college education, and become a commissioned officer in the end. I don't think it gets much better than that, if your willing to put in the effort to make it happen.............

Thanks .......... your son should be able to test in May, he should have his 6mts time in grade by then. We found out that he wont be able to come home until sometime in Jan, so we are getting his xmas stuff packed up to send. Mom just sent him a box of cookies ........... 13 lbs 11.8 oz, they should be able to eat for the rest of the year. I am sure it will be cheaper/safer anyways to travel after the mad holiday rush is over.

An active-duty member of the Navy was shot to death Thursday in West Pensacola.

The body of Tyler A. Jefferson, 18, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 500 block of 49th Avenue near Beech Street, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ted Roy said.

Jefferson was enrolled at the Center for Information Dominance at Corry Station in the A-school, where new graduates of basic training begin to learn specialized training for their Naval career, said Gary Nichols, a spokesman at Corry Station.
